Kerry é casado com Chris, com quem fundou a Comunidade de Woodlands (Houston, Texas). Desde o início, em 1993, com oito pessoas, muita coisa mudou. Atualmente a igreja tem uma frequência média de 18.000 pessoas por final de semana, o que faz desta uma das maiores e mais influentes igrejas dos Estados Unidos. O casal apresenta semanalmente um programa televisivo que alcança milhões de espectadores. Kerry e Chris têm quatro filhos.
