John Wesley (1703–1791) foi um religioso anglicano e evangelista que, com seu irmão Charles, fundou o movimento metodista. Sua mensagem de santidade e transformação pessoal provocou profundas transformações sociais na Inglaterra do século 18 e espalhou-se por todos os continentes. Um dos maiores evangelistas da história da igreja, John Wesley pregou até os últimos dias de vida, falecendo em Londres, no dia 2 de março de 1791.
