Kim Phuc Phan Thi tornou-se conhecida após ser fotografada aos 9 anos de idade, fugindo de um bombardeio de napalm que atingiu a aldeia onde ela morava no sul do Vietnã, em 1972. O ataque lhe provocou queimaduras severas. Hoje, Kim vive no Canadá e atua como embaixadora da Boa Vontade da Unesco. É casada com Toan e mãe de Thomas e Stephen.
